W. Ranjith B. Perera stands as an outstanding example of dedication, discipline, and excellence in Sri Lankan sport. An accomplished all-round sportsman, he proudly represented the Sri Lanka Air Force and achieved notable success by winning several major boxing tournaments. His commitment to boxing, both as a competitor and later as an official, reflects a lifelong passion for the sport and its values. Beyond boxing, Perera made a significant mark in weightlifting, earning recognition as a national-level weightlifter. His expertise and leadership in the sport were further acknowledged when he served as the National Weightlifting Manager, representing Sri Lanka at the Commonwealth Games. This role highlighted not only his technical knowledge but also his ability to guide and manage athletes on an international stage.

Ranjith Perera also excelled in athletics, demonstrating remarkable versatility across multiple sporting disciplines. After his competitive career, he continued to serve boxing with distinction as a Qualified Referee and Judge of the Boxing Association of Sri Lanka. Belonging to the highly respected 1993 batch, he is recognized as one of the most senior and experienced Referees and Judges in the country.
