Kingsley Jesudason

Building Foundations in the Golden Age of Sri Lankan Boxing

Sri Lanka's rich boxing heritage has been shaped not only by champions and titleholders, but also by committed athletes who strengthened the sport at its grassroots during highly competitive eras. Kingsley Jesudason stands among those dedicated boxers who represented St. Mary's College with discipline, humility, and unwavering commitment.

Kingsley began his boxing journey at St. Mary's College, competing in the prestigious L. V. Jayaweera Memorial Cup, a respected platform that nurtured many promising young boxers. He was an active competitor in the Novices category from 1977 to 1979, a formative period in Sri Lankan boxing that produced competitive confidence. Competing at a time when club boxing was fiercely contested and deeply respected, Kingsley demonstrated perseverance and exemplary sportsmanship, earning the regard of fellow boxers, coaches, and officials alike.

While the Novices division often marks the beginning of a boxing career, it is also where character is shaped and passion for the sport is truly tested. Kingsley Jesudason's years representing his alma mater remain a meaningful contribution to Sri Lanka's boxing legacy-one built on dedication, discipline, and quiet commitment rather than acclaim.
